The CM also appealed the people to extend cooperation to the state government regarding successful implementation of the National Food Security Act in Manipur, a government release said.
Singh made the announcement at a function organised by the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution at Sangaiprou Godown, the release said.
The Act would lay stress on those possessing Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cards.
As per the Act, 11,796 metric tonnes of rice for April was released and one kg of rice would be made available at Rs three per kg to the beneficiaries, the release said.
The Chief Minister said efforts were on to cover the whole population within June month this year under the Act, the release added.
