National Integration Tour for border students flags off

The Army today flagged off a 'National Integration Tour' for the 24 students of the frontier district of Poonch to make them aware of the rich cultural heritage of the country.
"A National Integration Tour "Paigam-E-Aman" organised by Romeo Force for students of Army Goodwill School, Potha of Poonch district was flagged off by Officiating Commander, Sector Rashtriya Rifles in a colourful ceremony held at, Surankote, today" a defense spokesman said here today.
He said that the aim of the tour is not only to spread the message of peace and harmony but also to make the youth of border and remote areas aware of the rich heritage and cultural of the nation.
"During the span of 11 days, the students will get a chance to visit Amritsar, New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. They will be visiting many historical sites, educational institutions and will meet important personalities. The highpoint of the tour will be their interaction with the President of India", he said.
He said that 24 students, both boys and girls from classes 8 to 10 of Army Goodwill School, Potha would be part of the tour.
"The students were extremely enthusiastic and excited about their first outing away from home", he said.

The spokesman said that during the flagging off ceremony Officiating Commander, Sector Rashtriya Rifles interacted with the students and asked them to extract the best out of this opportunity.
"He motivated the students to work hard, observe for themselves the progress made by our nation and then decide about their future endeavors and goals. He also urged them to share their experiences with their fellow classmates after the tour", the spokesman said.
The school Principal Biju and the school faculty were grateful towards the Army for organising such a tour and creating awareness amongst the children.
