Minister of State in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry S Jagathrakshakan stated this in the Lok Sabha in response to a question.
He also said that film festivals will be held in various state capitals and a set of DVDs of silent films will be released by the National Film Archives of India (NFAI).
A tableau to commemorate the centenary of Indian cinema will also be a part of the Republic Day parade and a commemorative stamp will be released, he said.
Several events will also be organised during the International Film Festival, Goa 2012 and Cannes Film Festival, marking the Centenary Year of Indian cinema.
In response to another question, Jagathrakshakan said a proposal will soon be moved for the setting up of Film Commission of India.
The commission serve as a single window clearance system for the foreign and Indian film makers for providing permissions required by the different government agencies, he said.
