National Theatre Festival begins

Seventeen dramas from different regional languages would be played at the nine-day long National Theatre Festival that began here today.
The 2017 edition of the festival, organised by the state government, is dedicated to one of the doyens of Indian theatre, the late Kavalam Narayana Panikkar.
'Legends of Khazath' (malayalam), a drama inspired by the novel 'Khazakinte Ithihasam" by renowned author and cartoonist late O V Vijayan, is the opening play.
'Mahabharata' (English-Hindi), '12 Machines' (Malayalam), 'Madhyama Vyayogam' (Sanskrit), 'Santaap' (Bengali), 'Outcaste' (Hindi), 'Pebet' (Manipuri), 'Tichya Aaichi Gosht Arthat Mazya Athvanincha Phat' (Marathi), 'Bharat Matha Ki Jai' (Hindi), 'Miruga Vidhusagam' (Tamil) and 'Swapna Vasavadutta' (Kannada) are some plays to be performed during the festival.
