National Tourism University proposed at Noida

Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma today said that a proposal for establishing a National Tourism University at Noida is under process.
Addressing an event on the occasion of the second convocation of the Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management (IITTM) at Noida, Sharma also said that a proposal to set up a museum of culture is in the pipeline.
The synergy between tourism, culture and civil aviation can make India a hub of international tourism, he said, adding the tourism sector not only generates foreign exchange but also provides employment opportunities especially for women and is a source of women empowerment.
Extending his greetings to the graduates, the Minister said that they are now the brand ambassadors of the country to promote tourism, according to a press statement.
A total of 1,605 students from batches of 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 of all campuses were conferred postgraduate diplomas, which includes Tourism & Travel (Gwalior), International Business (Gwalior), Services (Gwalior), Tourism & Travel (Bhubaneswar), International Business (Bhubaneswar), Tourism & Leisure (Noida) and Tourism & Cargo (Nellore), the release said.
IITTM, an autonomous organisation of the Union Ministry of Tourism, offers education, training, research and consultancy in sustainable management of tourism, travel and other allied sectors.
