The national conference on "Tribal Art" would be organised by the Department of Drawing and Painting of Kumaun University, Convener of the Conference, Prof Shekhar Chandra Joshi said.
The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) funded conference will be held from October 4 to 6, 2015.
More than 100 papers or abstracts have been received from across the nation, Joshi added.
A souvenir, promoting the scholars, researchers and artists working in the Tribal field as a valued part of our society with in and out of Uttarakhand, would also be released at this occasion.

In India, more than 700 tribes are registered and residing in the 30 states and union territories,including Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadeep islands.
Most number of tribes, 62, are in Orissa while Sikkim has the lowest with only four, Uttarakhand has five.
They are rich in cultural heritage and skilled in art and craft. They need special attention to develop their overall livelihood, Joshi said.
The aim of Conference is to reveal the bird eye view of current scenario of Tribal studies in the country especially in Uttarakhand while it will re-assess-search the condition of Indian Tribes in each walks of their life especially in the field of culture, humanities and fine arts, he added.
