NATO and Afghan forces kill 25 insurgents
Press Trust of IndiaKabul (Afghanistan), Feb 20 (AP) Afghan and coalition forces say they have killed at least 25 insurgents and at least three of their commanders in separate operations around the country in the past two days. The Interior Ministry said Wednesday that 15 insurgents were killed in an Afghan operation carried out in Mehterlam, the capital city of eastern Laghman province. It said yesterday's raid also killed the insurgent's commander, identified as Qari Almas. NATO also said it had killed 10 insurgents during joint operations with Afghan forces yesterday in southern and eastern Afghanistan. It said five insurgents were killed in the lawless Andar district of eastern Ghazni province, three died in an operation in eastern Logar province, and two were killed in southern Helmand province.
