Naval personnel provide facelift to destitute home

A destitute home operating under the aegis of the Kochi corporation has been provided a facelift by naval personnel of INS Venduruthy, an Indian Navy base here.

INS Venduruthy has been extending its help to the 'Palluruthy Relief Settlement' for improving the quality of life of the residents as part of its Platinum Jubilee commemorative activities.

Vice Admiral AK Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command (SNC) visited the Old Age Home and interacted with the residents, a defence release said here.

The institution houses more than 200 inmates including senior citizens from various parts of Kerala.

The Admiral assured them of the continued support by the Southern Naval Command in meeting their needs.

A number of activities have been undertaken by INS Venduruthy at a cost of Rs 10 lakh towards supporting the Home. PTI TGB
