Naval survey ship in Rameswaram

Naval survey ship INS Sandhayak has reached Rameswaram in a bid to find out a new sea way capable of carrying bigger ships in the Palk Strait.
The ship, which arrived from Vishakapatnam on Thursday, can also analyse the level of pollution, sea level at various places, sea bed and marine wealth, official sources said today.
After the survey is completed, steps would be taken to create new waysto deploy big patrol vessels.
The ship is designed to undertake shallow coastal and deep oceanic hydrographic survey and collect oceanographic and geophysical data.
