Navjot Singh Sidhu praises PM

BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu today heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter paid tributes to freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad here.
The Rajya Sabha MP said martyrs like Azad and Bhagat Singh were greatest role models to people and the way Modi went to pay tributes to him without any fanfare underlines his great sentiments for the country.
He made a short statement to the media in this regard. Sidhu and his wife, also a BJP leader from Punjab, have had uneven ties with the party and while the cricketer-turned-politician had maintained silence his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu had been vocal about it.

However, things have turned for better, party leaders have said, and he was recently nominated to the Upper House as a member.
Punjab is going to the polls early next year.
