District Judge Suryakant Shinde and District and Sessions Judge U M Nandeshwar, who is also a chairperson of Shri Saptshrungi Devi Nivasini Trust, performed a 'maha-pooja' on the occasion.
A senior office-bearer of the Trust said adequate security arrangements were being made for the nine-day long festival.
"We have installed 67 CCTVs. 97 security guards and personnel of Nashik District police and home guard are keeping vigil on the movement of pilgrims," the official added.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation will daily ply 225 buses from Nanduri to Saptshrungi Devi temple till the festival concludes on September 29, he said.
