Navy awaits NOC from families of missing personnel to announce benefits

The Naval authorities are waiting for No Objection Certificate (NoC) from family members of the civilian employees of Naval Armament Deport here who were on board the missing IAF aircraft AN 32, to announce posthumous benefits.
The aircraft, with 29 personnel including eight employees of NAD on board, disappeared off the Chennai Coast on July 22. Following a massive serach operation, the IAF had announced closure of search on September 14.
Addressing media on board INS Shakti here today ahead of Navy Day week, Flag Officer Commanding-In-Chief Eastern Naval Command Vice Admiral H C S Bisht said family members of six missing personnel had given NOC, but parents of two others were reluctant to sign the 'presumed dead' declaration, hoping that their sons might be alive.

Navy carried out its biggest-ever maritime search operations to trace the missing military aircraft in the Bay of Bengal by deploying all the resources but no sign of the missing AN 32 was found, Bisht said.
