A Naval Board of Inquiry today started probe into the charges made by the wife of a senior Navy officer that she was being forced by her husband into getting "sexually involved" with his colleagues here.
The BoI venue was shifted from Karwar in Karnataka to Delhi and during the day-long proceedings, the two sides, the woman and her husband, who is a Navy officer, questioned each other, sources said here.
The board is headed by an officer of the rank of Commander (equivalent of Lt Colonel in Army) and he is assisted by two officers including a lady officer, they said.
Defence Minister AK Antony had ordered a probe into the issue soon after the woman met him and complained about the alleged deeds of her husband. A day later, the Navy also ordered a Board of Inquiry.
The inquiry was earlier being held in Karwar in Karnataka but later it was shifted to Delhi after the request made by the woman's parents.
The woman, an MBA, had shifted to her maternal home after the episode. She accused her husband of physical and mental torture.
The woman, who got married in February last year, alleged that her husband had threatened if she disclosed the matter to anyone "he would put up my nude pictures on internet to spoil my image socially".
