Nawaz Sharif says North Waziristan operation will bring peace

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today said that military operation against militants in the restive North Waziristan tribal region will usher in peace in the country.
He was talking to Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif who called on him at the PM House here, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's office.
The army chief briefed him about the operation Zarb-e-Azb launched last month and told that it was being carried out successfully according to stated objective plans.
He said that army will achieve objectives of the operation as per the direction of the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister lauded the bravery and courage of soldiers and their contribution in making the operation a success with minimum collateral damage.
"Inshah Allah (God willing) this operation will be instrumental in bringing peace and security to Pakistan," the prime minister said.

The Chief of Army staff also apprised the Prime Minister on the situation of displaced people.
According to security official, over 400 militants have been killed in the operation and the forces have already secured 80 percent area of the main town of Miranshah.
The operation has displaced more than 800,000 people and government is struggling to provide them food and other relief goods.
