The film has been directed by National award winner Mangesh Hadawle, who said that the 38-year-old actor took the role so seriously that he refrained from talking to anyone on the sets.
"Nawaz underwent a course in which he was trained for hand movements, gestures and facial expressions which are usually done by mute people in their everyday life. It was a rigorous and difficult and Nawaz mastered it by the end of the training lessons," Hadawle said.
"Nawaz took the role so seriously that he refrained from talking to anyone on the sets. In order to get into the character perfectly Nawaz also stopped speaking on the phone," he added.
The actor received the best actor award at 12th annual New York Indian Film Festival for "Dekh Indian Circus". The film also stars actress Tannishtha Chatterjee, who was named the best actress at NYIFF for the film.
