Naxal involved in Mailwada landmine attack nabbed

A Naxal carrying a reward of Rs one lakh on his head and allegedly involved in the Mailwada landmine attack in which seven CRPF personnel were killed in March was arrested from Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Joga Markam (28) was rounded up from Kuakonda police station area by a joint team of security forces yesterday, a senior police official told PTI.
On March 30 this year, seven CRPF personnel were killed when Maoists triggered a powerful landmine blast and blew up their vehicle near Mailwada under Kuakonda police station area in Dantewada district.
The arrest came after a squad of district force and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation in the interiors of Kuakonda, based on inputs about presence of the ultra, he said.
A native of Dhanikarka village, Joga had been active with the outlawed CPI (Maoist) for last three years during which he was involved in at least ten Naxal attacks in the region, the official said.
The rebel was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, he added.
