The skirmish occurred in the forests of Gondiguda village under Golapalli police station limits between a joint team of security forces and rebels, Inspector General of Police Bastar Range SRP Kalluri told PTI.
A composite squad of Special Task Force (STF) and District Reserve Group (DRG), around 200 in number, led by Sukma Superintendent of Police D Shravan had launched an anti-Naxal operation to the interiors of Golapalli, located around 500 kms away from here, based on specific inputs about the movement of ultras, he said.
However, Naxal soon fled to the deep forests on finding security forces zeroing on them, the official added.
