Naxalites abduct eight labourers

Superintendent of Police Upendra Sharma today said citing preliminary information that armed Naxalites attacked a camp office of a road bridge construction in Badaldiah village about 30 km from district head-quarters last bight and took eight labourers with them.

The Naxalites has struck in the same Khaira police area on September 19 last year and killed one Inspector and injured five other policemen who were patrolling.

Those who have been abducted hailed from local Badaldiah village, Dalsinghsarai in Samastipur and Raghopur in Saran district.

The SP said a police team has rushed to the village to rescue the abducted labourers. The bridge is being constructed by a Munger-based private contractor who was awarded work by Bihar Rajya Pool Nirman Nigam on Jamui-Nawada rural road.

In 2011, Naxalite had struck twice and had abducted 17 labourers in engaged in a bridge construction work at Balthar ghat and in an another incident had abducted 11 labourers in Pakri ghat on Kiul river.
