Naxals allegedly stormed into the house of a former Congress MLA in the insurgency-hit Kanker district of Chhattisgarh today and snatched away the weapons of his security gaurds, police said.
However, nobody was injured in the incident, they said.
Four armed cadres, dressed as civilians came on two motorcycles and entered the house of former legislator Manturam Pawar at around 8.30 pm in Pakhanjore, around 250 km away from the state capital, Kanker Superintendent of Police RN Dash told PTI.
"At the time of attack, Pawar was in Raipur while his family members - his wife and two children - were at the house. However, none of them was harmed," the SP said.
The rebels slapped the security personnel, belonging to the state police, and took four Insas rifles, one SLR rifle and few rounds of live cartridges from them before fleeing, the SP said.
Soon after the incident, a team of security personnel rushed to the spot, following which a combing operation was launched to nab the attackers, he said.

"Prime facie it appears that the security guards failed to identify the rebels as they came disguised as civilians and before they could sense that something was amiss, ultras pointed guns at them," the SP said.
Pawar, who was in Raipur, told PTI that his wife, two children and a nephew, who were at the residence at that time, were safe.
"I spoke to my family members and security guards, they all are safe," Pawar said.
Pawar was a Congress MLA from Antagarh seat from - 1998-2003. He had been expelled from the party in August last year after he withdrew his candidature at the last moment for the Antagarh Assembly bypoll.
