Naxals kill suspected police informer

A group of Maoists allegedly gunned down a 62-year-old man in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours today, police said.
Patra Muthyam, a former postmaster and CPM Mandal Committee member, who was accused of being a police informer, was forced out of his house from Thummala village of Chinturu mandal at around 1 am allegedly by a group of 25 ultras and UG cadres of Chattisgarh state and was shot dead, they said.
Muthyam's body was found lying on the village outskirts in a field and a hunt has been launched to nab the ultras who fled into the nearby forests, a police officer said.
