Naxals kill youth in Chhattisgarh

A 19-year-old youth was killed and his family reportedly evicted from the village allegedly by Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, police said today.
One Tankeshwar was brutally beaten to death by Naxals at his village Becha under Chhote Dongar police station limits on March 19, after they branded him as a 'police informer', Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told PTI.
Becha area is said to be the strong base of the Maoists military cadres in Abhujmarh region, located around 400 km away from here.
As per preliminary information, on March 19, a group of Maoists stormed into Tankeshwar's house and dragged him out. They later thrashed him badly in front of villagers, following which he died on the spot,the SP said.
His younger brother was also reported to be badly beaten up by the ultras.
Later, his family was threatened to leave the village, the SP said.
One of the victim's brothers was working at Kondagaon and he usually visit there to meet him. It appears that he incurred the wrath of the Maoists for the same, the SP said, adding security forces were rushed to the spot.
