Lashing out against the Omar Abdullah government for failing to carry forward peace process in Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said it had implemented peace and reconciliatory policies in the state.
"PDP-led government had pioneered and implemented peace and reconciliatory policies, which yielded encouraging results all over the state", PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said while addressing a public rally at Mahore today.
"It was due to the pro-peace policies of the PDP-led government that residents of far-flung areas like Mahore got a big relief because their dignity and honour were restored," he said.
He alleged that the present government headed by Omar Abdullah has reversed the process of peace and balanced development, initiated by the previous PDP-Congress regime.
Mufti reminded the gathering that during the PDP-Congress rule, a comprehensive policy was devised for overall development of backward areas and special attention was paid to neglected areas like Mahore, Gulabgarh and Gool.
"Before 2002 there was total chaos and confusion in the state and common people was gripped with fear," he said adding, "those who were at the helm of the affairs before 2002 had deliberately created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear, only to accomplish their nefarious designs.
