Non-resolution of Kashmir issue is the major factor behind "uncertainty" in the sub-continent, National Conference leader Mustafa Kamal today claimed.
"The non-resolution of Kashmir issue has caused tremendous hardships to the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially after 1990 (when militancy broke out in the state)," Additional General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said addressing a function at party headquarters here.
The function was organised by the National Conference to commemorate the Labour Day.
Various trade unions and labour organisations took part in the rally at Nawai Subh complex.
The NC leader said the deterioration in the situation has affected every sector and the daily wagers were the worst hit.
State Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar, in his address, lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for restoration of peace and normalcy in the state.
Sagar said NC suffered immense loss during the last two decades of violence as "thousands" of the party workers and leaders were killed but the party is still a force to reckon with.
Hitting out at Peoples Democratic Party for what he described as "propaganda", the senior NC leader alleged that PDP does not want peace and prosperity in the state.
