"The Health Department should immediately release funds in favour of the persons whose lands were acquired for the hospital, so that the construction work on the building starts," MLA from Gurez constituency, Nazir Ahmad said in a statement here.
People of Gurez are facing tremendous hardships due to "insufficient medicare facilities" particularly during the winters as the area remains cut off from other parts of the state for a period of six months.
He directed the concerned officials to expedite all formalities and ensure completion of hospital building within a stipulated time frame so that the long pending demand of the Gurez area is fulfilled.
Ahmad also demanded deployment of team of specialist doctors during the winters in the region.
"Air service shall be provided to them (doctors) during the period," he said.
