NC MLA gives privilege notice against J-K minister

Opposition National Conference today gave a privilege notice against Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu accusing him of making "untrue and baseless" statement on the floor of the Assembly.
NC MLA Mohammad Shafi Uri said party leader Omar Abdullah had on June one raised the issue of notifications on budget proposals issued by the government without discussion in the House.
"In response, the Finance Minister made the statement that he followed the practice of other states and the central government," the NC leader said.
He claimed that the statement made by Drabu was "untrue and baseless" and requested that the matter be refered to the Privileges Committee.

Speaker Kavinder Gupta said he has received the notice and would examine it before giving a ruling on it.
