"The party (National Conference) has landed the state in serious crisis of governance and is engaged in dirty tricks to keep Srinagar political hostage to stay in contention for power," PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said.

Addressing party office-bearers and prominent workers here, she alleged there was shortage of electricity, cooking gas and ration in the state.

Flaying the government on the price rise front, Mufti said her party in its capacity as the main voice of the people would continue to focus on problems of citizens who had become victims of "worst governance" under the present regime.

She alleged youths had been framed in false cases and in spite of Chief Minister's repeated announcements the cases had not been withdrawn.

"Some of them are being forced to carry out the dirty tricks of the NC to ensure that the youths in general continue to feel alienated and a viable opposition does not emerge," the PDP chief said.

The PDP had convened the meeting of its office-bearers to finalise its protest programme slated for January five to highlight what it alleged misgovernance of NC-led government in the state.
