NCC headquarters to come up in Rohini area of Delhi

The Public Works Department (PWD) has decided to construct NCC headquarters with green building norms in Rohini area of north-west Delhi.
The Department has sanctioned an amount of Rs 55.97 crore for the construction of the five-storeyed building that will provide training facilities to NCC cadets of schools and colleges in Delhi area.
"The building will have total plinth area of 13,016 sqm and basement of 3,576 sqm. It will be RCC framed structure," PWD Secretary Arun Baroka said.
The building has been designed on raft foundation, and its external finish shall be in dry stone cladding, he said, adding, granite flooring for entrance hall and office rooms have been proposed.
Other facilities include fire fighting with sprinkler system having automatic alarm, stainless steel railing in staircase, 3 lifts for 16 passengers each.
The building will also have green facilities like STP, Rain Water Harvesting, Solar Photo Voltaic Cell based Street lighting, he added.
Tenders for the work have been received and are undergoing scrutiny. The work is likely to start by October this year and is scheduled to be completed in 15 months, Baroka said.
