NCC provides strength to youth: Army Chief

Chief of Army Staff Gen Bikram Singh today lauded the stellar role played by the NCC and said it provides strength through its motto of 'Unity and Discipline' to youth to shoulder the responsibility of building a strong nation.
Singh, who was accompanied with his wife Bubbles Singh, at the NCC Republic Day Parade Camp said the steps taken towards revising the training philosophy and the syllabus as well as of making NCC an elective subject would yield the essential quality changes in the confidence level and personality of the cadets.
He complimented the NCC Director General on successful organization of NCC National Games in Oct 2013, the scaling of Mt Everest in May 2013 as well as social service schemes and community development programmes.

An impressive guard of honour was given to him by a contingent of smartly-turned out NCC cadets drawn from Army, Navy and Air Force wings.
On arrival, the General officer was received by the DG Lt Gen Aniruddha Chakravarty.
