The NCP Wednesday welcomed the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) verdict staying the death sentence handed to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav by a Pakistani court.
The ICJ ruled that Pakistan must make an "effective review and reconsideration" of the conviction and death sentence of Kulbhushan Jadhav and grant him consular access.
The ruling is viewed as a major victory for India.
Jadhav, 49, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by the Pakistani military court on charges of "espionage and terrorism" after a closed trial in April 2017.
"We welcome the decision of the ICJ. We believe in winning the legal battle in future as well (and) he (Jadhav) will be released," reads a tweet posted by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson Nawab Malik.
