The NCP Tuesday hit out at the central government over the rising fuel prices and questioned whether it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi's definition of 'achche din' (good days) for common people.
The Modi-led BJP had in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls used the slogan of 'achche din', assuring to better conditions for people.
"The prices of petrol, diesel and domestic gas have gone up substantially. The budget of the common people stands completely collapsed," Maharashtra NCP chief Jayant Patil said on Twitter.
"The BJP had assured to bring down the prices after coming to power, but instead they are going upwards. Development is nowhere to be seen," he added.
Patil observed it is the homemakers who are at the receiving end of the rising prices as they are finding it increasingly difficult to manage family budget in limited income.
"The (per litre) rate of petrol seems to be on its way to be Rs 100. Is this your definition of achche din, Modi ji?" asked Patil.
