NCP, Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiv Sena have sought land in Delhi for construction of offices, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Shiv Sena refused to take the land that the Urban Development ministry offered, while plots are not available in areas of choice of the other two parties, Minister of State for Urban Development Deepa Dasmunshi said in a written reply.
"Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party, Nationalist Congress Party and Shiromani Akali Dal have requested for allotment of land for construction of offices," Dasmunshi said.
"Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party has been offered land in a certain area, but it has been refused. The other two parties have not yet been offered any land as no land is available in the area of their choice," she said.
In response to another question, Dasmunshi said Gujarat is the sixth most urbanised state in the country.
She said the total allocation for Gujarat under the Urban Infrastructure and Governance sub-mission of JNNURM from 2005 to 2012 is Rs 2578.81 crore, which is 8 per cent of the total allocation.
She said under the Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns, the allocation for Gujarat was Rs 351.82 crore, which is more than 3 per cent of the total allocation.
