Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers Friday staged 'kandeel' (lantern) protests against load-shedding in parts of Maharashtra due to power shortage.
The women's and youth wings of the opposition party took part in the protests.
NCP women's wing, led by its president Chitra Wagh, staged a protest near state secretariat, hanging a lantern at one of the gates of its building in South Mumbai.
The youth wing held demonstrations outside the offices of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd.
"Beginning today, the youth wing will stage protests for the next three days," NCP's youth wing chief Sangram Kote Patil said in a statement.
