NCR is one of the largest manufacturers of automatic teller machines (ATMs) and commands 47 a per cent market share in India.
NCR's Director (Product Management) Ashok Nallam said, "We have invested around USD 100 million in this facility and it is expected to become operational by March 2015. This facility will manufacture ATMs, point-of-sale units for retail and hospitality sector, among other products."
Started in 2004 with 50 employees, its R&D centre now employs more than 600 people on its rolls.
He said that revenues from India stood at Rs 1,500 crore in 2013 and expected it to grow better than the company's overall growth globally.
Globally, the company clocked a turnover of USD 6.5 billion, and is growing at five to six per cent.
Presently, over 400,000 ATMs around the world are run on applications developed by the Hyderabad R&D centre, he said.
