NCRPB meeting tomorrow

Inclusion of additional areas, delineation of natural conservation zones, review of status of Regional Rapid Transport Systems (RRTS) are among the important items on the agenda in the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) meeting to be held here tomorrow.
According to an official statement released here, the 13-point agenda also includes issues related to protection of Mangar Bani green cover in Haryana, preparation and finalisation of sub-regional plans by participating states and status of financing of projects by NCRPB.
The 35th meeting of the NCRPB will be chaired by Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu. Chief Ministers of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh besides the urban development ministers and chief secretaries of these states are among the members of the NCRPB.
NCRPB was constituted in 1985 by an act of Parliament with the objective of preparation of a plan for development of the National Capital Region (NCR), coordination and monitoring the implementation of the said plan and evolving harmonised policies for control of land uses and developing infrastructure so as to avoid any haphazard development.
Besides the National Capital Territory of Delhi, 11 districts of Haryana, six of Uttar Pradesh and two districts of Rajasthan have been included in the NCR accounting for a total area of 45,888 sq.Kms.
