A team of the NCW had visited Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Tonk's Niwai area where there was widespread unrest among female students following incidents of crime against their fellow classmates.
In the recommendations that NCW chief Mamata Sharma handed over to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the panel sought a high-level enquiry into the lax arrangements and also the incidents of crime that had happened there.
The NCW also recommended that a women police desk should be set up at the campus and a helpline for students to lodge complaints.
The Commission also questioned why the campus which had a large number of female students was open to outsiders. The NCW team also sought an investigation in the incidents of suicide on the campus. It also suggested setting up of a counselling centre for both students and teachers.
The NCW had sent its team to probe an alleged cover up of two rape cases in Banasthali Vidyapith that had triggered student unrest last month. In its recommendations, the NCW has also said that no vindictive action should be taken against any of the students who were a part of the protests.
