The main difference between the current NDA government at the Centre and the previous UPA dispensation is that while earlier scams were reported every fortnight now a public welfare scheme is announced every 10-15 days, Union minister Vijay Sampla said today.
He said during the last three years there has been no allegation of corruption against the central government or any of its ministers, which proves that the BJP has fulfilled its promise of providing clean and corruption-free governance.
Sampla, the Punjab unit chief of the BJP, made the remarks while highlighting the Centre's achievements so far during a programme organised here to mark three years of the Narendra Modi government.
"There has been no allegation in the last three years on the central government or on its ministers and it proves that that the BJP has kept its promise of providing clean and corruption-free government in the country," he told reporters.
"During the Congress-led regime (2004-2014) there would be news of corruption or scam every 10-15 days, but this is not the case with the current government. Our government has come up with a welfare scheme every 10-15 days," the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said.
"The main difference between the current NDA government and the previous UPA government is that while the current government has announced welfare schemes every 10-15 days, cases of corruption and scandals were reported every fortnight during the previous government," Sampla said.
