A team of the National Defence College (NDC) led by its secretary is on a four-day tour of Arunachal Pradesh to study the socio- political progress of this land-locked state.
The team is planning to have intensive discussions with policy makers, officers and stakeholders on the policies and programmes of the state government and their implementations, official sources said here today.
The team also has plans to visit Tawang and Mechuka during the trip if the weather permits.
Team leader Brig J K Sharma during a meeting with Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here yesterday informed that after the tour, the NDC officials would have elaborate in-house discussions on their 'inputs' and then submit a report to the Central government.
The NDC team would also give a feedback on their findings to the state government, which would help the government to frame strategic policies and programmes for welfare of the common people as well as progress of the state on all fronts, sources informed.
Brig Sharma informed that the team is on a routine tour of developing states to study the socio-political progress.

While welcoming the team to the state, Tuki wished that they could visit remote border villages of the state.
He reiterated the issue of developing border areas so that local populace of the region does not migrate to urban areas in the plains leaving the border regions uninhabited.
"While only about 30 per cent of the border region are guarded by our security forces rest 70 per cent are manned by the local populace.
"In such places our borders are in place only because of the local population in villages. If they move out then our borders will be thrown open with nothing to mark or claim as our territory.
"Therefore, it is a must that we provide all basic facilities to our border villages," Tuki asserted and expressed hope that the NDC team would find space to mention the issue in their report.
