The north Delhi civic body today partially demolished an ashram in Rohini, from where several women allegedly kept in illegal confinement were rescued last month, for alleged violation of the civic norms.
The fifth floor of Virendra Dev Dixit's 'Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidhyalaya' in Vijay Vihar area was demolished for alleged violation of the civic norms, official sources said.
"The RCC columns and tin sheds erected on top of the fourth floor were removed and one point at second floor was also sealed. Action was taken with the help of 20 workers and about 100 police personnel," the source said.
The Delhi High Court early this month had termed "extremely suspicious" the conduct of Dixit, founder of the north Delhi-based ashram where women were allegedly kept in illegal confinement, and had asked the CBI to give a report on his whereabouts.
