NDMC gets roll call centres for sanitation workers

NDMC would provide mandatory health check-up of all safai karamcharis above the age of 40 years on an yearly basis

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is constructing roll call centres for sanitation workers employed by it.

"As many as 67 centres for safai karamcharis would be constructed in different localities of New Delhi area by NDMC. In the first phase of the scheme 35 roll call centres would be constructed in different localities out of which seven have already been inaugurated," New Delhi MP and member of NDMC, Meenakshi Lekhi said at the inauguration of a centre in Laxmi Nagar.

"The roll call centres having all civic amenities and community facilities would cater to the need of safai karamcharis and help to increase their working efficiency," she added.

NDMC would provide mandatory health check-up of all safai karamcharis above the age of 40 years on an yearly basis.

As many as 2,800 safai karamcharis in 14 circles engaged in sanitation work in NDMC area would be benefited.
