NDMC tender case: AAP's Leader of Oppn writes to CBI on mayor

Firing a fresh salvo at North Delhi Mayor Preety Agarwal, Leader of Opposition in the BJP-led NDMC Rakesh Kumar today sent a letter to the CBI, seeking a probe into her involvement in the alleged irregularities in the tendering process in the civic body.
AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey also trained his guns at the mayor and challenged the BJP to again field her as the party's candidate in the next mayoral polls.
AAP leader Rakesh Kumar, who flanked Pandey's during a press conference here, in his letter to the CBI has said, "I would like to request you to register and investigate my complaint against Preety Agarwal (Mayor, North Delhi Municipal Corporation)" for allegedly "misusing power" for benefit and causing a "huge loss to the state exchequer".

He also distributed the copy of he letter at the press conference.
The mayor has refuted all charges made by the AAP and earlier had accused the Arvind Kejriwal-led party of targeting her to divert attention when there were corruption allegations against Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
Pandey claimed, "We did a lot of exposes against her and how the tender process was compromised by her to favour a particular company", instead, "we are being threated with legal notices".

"We have collected a few more instances of her alleged involvement in the irregularities, which we have put up in the letter sent by Rakesh to the CBI...The way all probing agencies become active when it comes to AAP cases, even without evidence, we hope the CBI will act the same way, after our complaint to them," the AAP spokesperson said.

Pandey also said, he challenged the BJP and its leadership, that "if she is honest, she should be repeated" as a candidate in the next mayoral polls.
"And, if not, the people of Delhi would accept that in the name of new face, new flight ('naye chehre, nayi udaan'), it was all a farce," he said.
The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has been ruled by the BJP since its inception in 2012.
