NDRF conducts drill with Rlys on quick relief during accidents

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) today conducted a joint exercise with the Railways on how to provide quick relief to victims in the event of a rail accident.
The mock drill by NDRF and the Railways was carried out at Danapur railway station.
NDRF personnel, equipped with relief gadgets, along with RPF officers, enacted how quickly services could be provided to accident victims such as taking them out of the bungled coaches, delivering medical aid etc., an NDRF statement said.
The joint drill was carried out under the supervision of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Danapur, Ramesh Kumar Jha and Deputy Commandant, NDRF, Alok Kumar.
Ravi Kant, Officiating Commandant of the Bihta-based 9th Battalion of the NDRF, said in the statement that the exercise was aimed at promoting how to establish a better coordination among different agencies at times of distress.
This kind of an exercise also assesses the level of preparedness of our personnel, Kant said.
The NDRF battalion has conducted such drills with the Railway personnel at Sonepur, Samastipur and Dhanbad divisions of the East Central Railway (ECR) zone.
