NDRF rescuers save life of snake bite child victim in flooded

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescuers have successfully evacuated a three-year old snake bite victim after a night long operation in a flooded remote village in Bihar's East Champaran district.

The child Faran, son of Safatulla, was taken to sadar hospital Motihari after an operation in the intervening night of July 28-29 and his condition is stable, a statement from 9th battalion NDRF said on Monday.

The incident happened at inundated Janerwa village, Ward No. 14 under Banjariya block.

NDRF team carried out the task under supervision of Inspector Mahendra Singh Dhami.

Vijay Sinha, Commandant, 9th battalion, said this year the force personnel have successfully evacuated four snake bite victims from the flood-hit areas to the nearby hospitals, out of which two in East Champaran district and one each in Araria and Madhubani districts.

A total 19 teams of Bihta based NDRF are engaged in the marooned districts of Bihar for rescue & relief operation, he said.

Till now, the NDRF rescuers have evacuated 4496 flood affected people to safer places.

NDRF also taken out 10 marooned pregnant ladies to nearby hospitals, the statement said.

Its medical teams have provided treatment to more than four thousands needy people.
