"Our governments should adopt new technologies as these technologies bring governance closer to the people," Sangma said when addressing at the 5th North East Information and Communication Technology conference held here.
While administering for adoption of IT services in social sector, he said that adoption of best IT services has been necessary in health and education sector where the government service is found wanting.
The Chief Minister regretted over the frequent failure of connectivity of services and called upon IT experts to find out ways to solve this problem.
Meghalaya has allotted 80 acre land for promotion of IT investment in its IT Park near Shillong.
Urging the IT companies to invest here, he said, "I assure that there will be 30 per cent less expenditure if you invest here. IT industries often pay high rents in the metros."
