"Yes Sir. Review of all laws with a view to bring them in harmony with the current economic, social and political situation in the country, is a continuous process," Law Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said in a reply in Rajya Sabha.
He said the Law Commission of India in its 248th, 249th, 250th and 251st reports on "Obsolete Laws: Warranting Immediate Repeal" have recommended repeal of 72, 113, 74 and 30 obsolete acts, respectively.
The law minister added that the government is enacting various bills to repeal the obsolete acts in Parliament.
In reply to another question on formulation of international treaties and agreements, he said, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice has identified the subject "Role of Ministry of Law and Justice in framing/approving the provisions of international covenants/multilateral/bilateral treaties or Agreements" for examination.
