From July 1 to July 31, 89,835 challans were issued by the transport department to persons for violating differents rules in the national capital.
Of that, 22,868 challans were issued for not wearing seat belts while driving.
According to a transport department official, 4,409 and 432 challans were issued for not having pollution certificates and helmets, respectively.
"1,225 challans were issued for indulging in rash driving while 5,331 persons were executed for not having driving licence, registeration certificates and permits. 52,995 challans were issued in other categories for violations of different rules," a senior transport department official said.
