A total of 1040 girl students had applied under the scheme which grants Rs 30,000 to each of those girls who pass class X and Class XII examinations.
District Magistrate M K S Sundaram and District Inspector of School Jyoti Prasad were present at the ceremony held at Government Inter College, sector 12 Noida.
The district target was 928, out of which 856 cheques were distributed today. Remaining cheques will be distributed in February next year.
