Punjab Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today said that there was a need for focused attention on quality education by reshaping the road map of academic curriculum.
Presiding over the meeting of Board of Governors of Punjab Public School here today, Solanki said teachers should be role models and the institutions should continuously learn, improve and upgrade their knowledge, to face the emerging challenges of globalisation.
Reminding the institution of the social aims of education, Solanki said that we must utilise all resources available to explore and develop the potential of our students by stretching their abilities through innovative programmes.
"We have a responsibility to ensure that our youth receives a proper education," the Governor said.
"It is very important to focus on character building and to inculcate amongst the youth, the values of compassion, harmonious living and respect for elders. Our educational institutions, therefore, should be the place where students learn and practise, discipline, tolerance and balanced reasoning," Solanki added.
