He was speaking at the 47th session of the Standing Labour Committee which was presided over by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya here.
Abhimanyu also urged that there was a need for adopting a different approach to the working of employment exchanges to connect with the needs of industry and service sector, an official statement released here said.
He said that the other biggest challenge before us is a new approach to employment according to employability of our working population for their absorption in the formal sector.
He said that the vast population in the unorganised sector which contributes to the economy has been ignored for so many years in spite of a law for their social security which was brought out in 2008.
"I congratulate the Ministry for their strong initiative to take action for the registration of unorganised workers to provide them social security", he added.
As per the statement Abhimanyu also said that the protection of rights of the workers has a direct relation to industrial peace and productivity. He also suggested several reforms.
