The outcomes of the US Presidential elections, Brexit referendum and other global changes are challenging old narratives, resulting in uncertainty in different parts of the world, according to them.
IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said advances in technology have been credited with bringing hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, modernising medicine and agriculture as well as connecting a lot of people. But there are negative impacts on some segments which she termed digital have-nots.
While calling for identifying positive narratives, she said when there is good ownership and partnerships, these "fuel being together".
"We need to create a new narrative and restore hope for people who have been economically dislocated, especially from technology," Hewlett Packard Enterprise President and CEO Meg Whitman said.
