He was speaking after an IPR cell was inaugurated at Bharathiar University here today.
Listing out the role of the Central Government, Dr S P Subramaniyan, Patent Officer, Government of India, explained the rules and ways to filing the patent and its benefits.
He detailed about the role of IPR cell in university premises.
A special website was launched for IPR cell (www. ipr.B-u.Ac.In) with details about vision, objective, IPR forms and procedure for filing a patent and to help young researchers and students to know more about on IPR.
Various aspects of IPR, its importance, basic concepts and procedures relating to registration of patents,copyrights, Trademarks and Geographical Indications were highlighted at the inaugural, in which 400 persons attended.
